New Poll Has Shockingly Bad News For Democrats, The World Has Changed And They’re Toast

The Democratic Party’s longtime assumption that young voters would secure its future is being shattered, with new data showing that Gen Z — especially young White men — is moving sharply toward Donald Trump.

Key Facts:

  • New polling shows 18-year-old men are 23 points more likely to support Trump than women the same age.
  • Even 75-year-old White men are now more likely to support Kamala Harris than 20-year-old White men.
  • David Shor of Blue Rose Research called the youth shift “the most shocking” political change in decades.
  • The gender gap among voters under 30 is historically wide and appears in countries beyond the U.S.
  • Ezra Klein admitted Democrats were wrong to believe young voters would carry their party forward.

The Rest of The Story:

Ezra Klein, a New York Times columnist, recently interviewed Democratic pollster David Shor about why younger voters, particularly men, are abandoning the Democratic Party.

On Klein’s podcast, they discussed recent data that revealed an unexpected political shift: Kamala Harris performs better among 75-year-old White men than among 20-year-old White men.

Shor highlighted that while young women of color still support Democrats, young nonwhite men are beginning to back Trump.

More surprising is the sharp divide between young men and women.

The data shows a 23-point gap between 18-year-old men and women, an unprecedented difference in modern U.S. politics.

Shor believes this pattern is mirrored in other Western democracies like Canada and Norway, suggesting a broader cultural transformation is underway.

Klein pointed to social movements like #MeToo and the rise of pro-male online spaces as contributing factors.

He suggested Democrats may now appear more pro-woman — and even anti-young man — a perception that could be reshaping political affiliations among Gen Z.

Commentary:

This may be the least surprising poll of all.

Young men are walking away from the Democratic Party — and anyone paying attention over the last four years could’ve seen this coming.

These Gen Z voters came of age under COVID lockdowns that disrupted their lives, education, and economic opportunities — lockdowns led by Democrat-run institutions.

Many watched their schools shut down, their jobs disappear, and their freedoms shrink in the name of “safety.”

At the same time, the Democratic Party poured its energy into radical gender politics, celebrating drag shows for kids while labeling basic masculinity as “toxic.”

Young men, meanwhile, were told they benefit from “patriarchy” and should take a back seat in society.

Instead of engaging them, the party alienated them.

Social media further split the genders.

While young women were fed activist content pushing progressive causes, young men were drawn into conversations about self-improvement, traditional values, and skepticism toward institutional power — much of it critical of the left.

The left’s mistake wasn’t just ignoring young men — it was attacking them.

Democrats assumed identity politics would unite young voters forever.

But identity politics cuts both ways, and now, it’s backfiring.

The Democratic establishment is stunned, but it shouldn’t be.

You can only shame and sideline a group for so long before they start pushing back.

The party’s narrative of an inevitable “ascendant majority” led by young voters has not only collapsed — it may be reversing.

The Bottom Line:

Younger voters, especially men, are moving right — and fast.

Democrats are losing a generation they thought was theirs, and the reasons are cultural, not just political.

What once looked like a guaranteed future for the left may now be the beginning of something very different.

Gen Z’s shift isn’t a glitch.

It’s the result of years of political missteps — and a warning sign that can no longer be ignored.
