NYC Mayoral Hopeful’s Radical Roots Run Deep: Father Linked to Anti-Israel Tribunal, Terror Sympathizers

Zohran Mamdani, a socialist candidate for New York City mayor, comes from a family deeply embedded in anti-Israel activism. His father, Columbia professor Mahmood Mamdani, serves on the advisory board of an organization that supports boycotts of Israel and justifies suicide bombings.

Key Facts:

  • Mahmood Mamdani sits on the advisory council of the Gaza Tribunal, which supports BDS and accuses Israel of genocide.
  • The Gaza Tribunal was launched in London in 2024 and includes figures with terror ties and antisemitic histories.
  • Zohran Mamdani has repeatedly refused to affirm Israel’s right to exist and supports BDS policies.
  • Mahmood Mamdani has argued that suicide bombers should be seen as “soldiers” in modern political conflict.
  • Zohran is running for NYC mayor against Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo in the upcoming general election.

The Rest of The Story:

Mahmood Mamdani, a Columbia University professor and father of NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, is listed as a policy advisor to the Gaza Tribunal.

This group, founded in London in 2024, openly supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and accuses Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Its president, Richard Falk, has repeatedly described Israel as a colonialist state guilty of ethnic cleansing.

Falk explained the group’s mission as one to “legitimize and encourage” BDS-style activism.

Zohran Mamdani echoed this sentiment in May, stating that his support for BDS “is consistent with the core of my politics, which is non-violence,” though he declined to affirm Israel’s right to exist.

Mahmood Mamdani’s involvement is not limited to advisory duties.

In a 2004 book, he controversially argued that suicide bombers should not be stigmatized as barbaric but understood as modern political actors.

“We need to recognize the suicide bomber, first and foremost, as a category of soldier,” he wrote.

The Tribunal’s connections are even more troubling.

Members include Hatem Bazian, who has called for an “intifada in this country,” and Sami Al-Arian, who pled guilty to aiding the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group.

Al-Arian praised the Tribunal’s Sarajevo Declaration, which accuses Israel of apartheid and genocide.

Former UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn—long criticized for antisemitism—also serves on the advisory council.

Under his leadership, the Labour Party was found to have broken laws related to its handling of antisemitism complaints.

Despite widespread criticism, Richard Falk defends the Mamdanis, saying they are “respectful of international law.”

Commentary:

This explains a lot.

Zohran Mamdani’s political views aren’t random—they’re inherited.

Raised by Mahmood Mamdani, a man who excuses suicide bombers and supports efforts to isolate Israel, Zohran didn’t just adopt radical positions; he grew up in them.

When someone refuses to say Israel has a right to exist and embraces slogans like “globalize the intifada,” we should be asking: Where does this come from?

The answer is obvious. His father sits on a council alongside people with terror ties and a record of antisemitic rhetoric. One even called for violent uprising in the U.S.

That’s the company Mahmood Mamdani keeps—and by extension, so does his son.

New Yorkers deserve better than a candidate molded by radical academics and extremists.

If elected, Mamdani wouldn’t just bring progressive policies—he’d usher in the global hard-left worldview that sees Israel as evil, excuses terrorism, and undermines Western institutions.

Look at London. Once a symbol of tradition and British culture, it’s now riddled with policies that have marginalized native citizens while empowering radicals under the banner of multiculturalism.

New York is heading the same way—fast.

The hard truth is this: if New Yorkers don’t reject Zohran Mamdani, they are voting for the city’s cultural, political, and moral decline.

A vote for Mamdani is a vote to turn NYC into a battleground of imported ideologies where American values come last.

And let’s be honest—this isn’t just about Israel. It’s about safety, sovereignty, and the future of a city that used to stand tall.

If Mamdani wins, the people of New York will wake up in a city they no longer recognize, run by a man whose politics are rooted in resentment and division.

The Bottom Line:

Zohran Mamdani’s radical politics are not a phase—they’re a family tradition.

His father’s ties to terror apologists and anti-Israel activism raise serious concerns about Zohran’s worldview and potential leadership.

If New Yorkers want to preserve their city’s values and safety, Mamdani must be soundly rejected at the ballot box.
