White House Asked to Name One ‘Policy Achievement’ for Harris, It Did Not Go Well

As the Democratic National Convention in Chicago looms just a week away, questions are swirling about Vice President Kamala Harris’s accomplishments and her role in the Biden administration.

Despite being in office for over three years, Harris’s specific policy achievements remain elusive, raising concerns about her effectiveness as a leader and her readiness for higher office.

When pressed to name a “specific policy” achieved by Harris, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre struggled to provide a concrete example.

Instead, she offered a vague response, emphasizing the partnership between President Biden and Harris. “The Biden-Harris accomplishments are the Biden-Harris accomplishments,” Jean-Pierre stated, seemingly unable to pinpoint Harris’s individual contributions.

This lack of clarity is particularly troubling given Harris’s high-profile assignment to address the “root cause” of illegal immigration. Despite being tasked with this crucial role, Harris has faced criticism for her handling of the ongoing border crisis.

Her absence from the frontlines of this issue has left many wondering about her commitment and effectiveness in tackling one of the administration’s most pressing challenges.

Adding to the concerns, Harris has yet to hold a press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee. This lack of direct communication with the public and media is unusual for a vice president, and presidential candidate.

The absence of a clear campaign platform at this stage in the election cycle increases the questions surrounding Harris’s vision and leadership.

Jean-Pierre’s attempts to highlight Harris’s role in the administration seemed to focus more on her presence than her actions. “She’s played a role, whether it is being on the floor of the Senate, getting really important legislation to pass through, or being in a room with the president,” the press secretary noted.

However, these descriptions paint a picture of a vice president who is present but not necessarily driving policy or making significant independent contributions.

The White House’s strategy appears to be tying Harris closely to Biden’s achievements, perhaps in an effort to bolster her credibility. “They have been partners. She’s been a critical partner for this president during this term,” Jean-Pierre emphasized. Yet, this approach raises questions about Harris’s ability to stand on her own merits and accomplishments.

Any policy proposal she has made to date is not eve her own. Recently Harris adopted ending taxes on tips for service workers, a page directly out of former President Trump’s gameplan.

This move has led to accusations of policy flip-flopping and opportunism. Trump himself criticized Harris, stating, “She is conning the American public, and will flip right back.”

As it stands, Harris’ tenure as vice president seems characterized more by her presence in the administration than by any landmark achievements or policy initiatives. She has a lot to overcome in the few short months leading into the election.
