Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) recently raised alarms about the Democratic Party’s 2024 prospects with President Biden at the helm.
At a private fundraiser, Schiff painted a bleak picture for donors.
“I think if he is our nominee, I think we lose,” Schiff said, according to a New York Times transcript. He added, “And we may very, very well lose the Senate and lose our chance to take back the House.”
Schiff’s comments came before the ground shifted even further by a world changing event: an attempted assassination of former President Trump.
“We’ve all resigned ourselves to a second Trump presidency,” one senior Democrat told Axios, highlighting the party’s current mood.

The failed assassination attempt on Trump has forced both parties to rethink their strategies.
Despite this shift, the concerns Schiff voiced linger beneath the surface.
The fact remains that Biden is a dementia patient who is getting worse by the day and clearly not up to the job.
To make matters worse Kamala Harris is even less liked by voters than Joe Biden, hated by her staff and grossly incompetent.

One donor left the fundraiser feeling “dejected” about Biden’s chances, considering redirecting efforts to down-ballot races to “salvage something for the party.”
