CNN Panel Discusses How DNC Is Appealing to Men Who Are Less ‘Testosterone-Laden’

In what could only be described as a head-scratching moment in political commentary, CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash recently treated viewers to an unintentionally hilarious discussion about the Democratic National Convention’s (DNC) strategy to appeal to male voters.

Buckle up, folks, because this ride into absurdity is about to begin.

The comedy kicked off with Tapper making a somewhat innocuous statement: “The gender gap in American politics has been trending very strongly for years. But this year, at least according to polls, it is so strong. The women vote is overwhelmingly for Harris. The male vote, overwhelmingly for Trump, though not as much.”

It was Dana Bash who really took the cake, serving up a heaping helping of unintentional humor. According to Bash, the DNC is on a mission to appeal to men who might not fit the mold of their Republican counterparts.

Hold onto your hats, because here comes the kicker:
“But they are doing so in trying to put forward male figures, Tim Walz being one of them, Doug Emhoff last night, who can speak to men out there who might not be the sort of testosterone-laden, y’know, gun-toting kind of guy who wants to listen to Hulk Hogan and the kind of players that came out at the RNC or might want to listen to that,” she said.

That’s right, folks. In Bash’s world, the political landscape is divided into two types of men: the “testosterone-laden, gun-toting” Republicans and the… well, supposedly less manly Democrats? One can only imagine the DNC’s new slogan: “Vote Democrat: We Promise We Won’t Make You Arm Wrestle!”

But wait, there’s more! Bash continued her foray into the land of bizarre political strategy:
“But also, in addition, understand that it’s okay in 2024 to be a man comfortable in his own skin who supports a woman, and that is something they are really trying to work on with male voters beyond the base.”

Apparently, in CNN’s version of 2024, men need to be reassured that it’s acceptable to support a woman. Who knew that voting for a female candidate was such a crisis of masculinity? Perhaps the DNC should start handing out “I Voted for a Woman and Survived” stickers at polling stations.

Tapper, not to be outdone in this festival of facepalms, chimed in with his own gem. He recalled someone describing the Republican National Convention as “‘testosterone-y’ with Kid Rock and the Ultimate Fighting Champion guy [Dana White] and Hulk Hogan.”

One can only imagine the intense strategy sessions at DNC headquarters. “Quick, find us some men who exude an aura of comfortable shoe-wearing and gentle handshakes! We need to counter the Republicans’ Hulkamania with our own brand of… Mild-Mannered Mania?”

It seems like CNN believes the key to winning elections isn’t about policies or leadership qualities. No, it’s all about finding the right balance of testosterone in your campaign.
