Members of J6 Committee May be Referred for Prosecution, Criminal Obstruction or Ethics Violations

Republicans are finally uncovering the truth about what really happened on January 6, 2021. It is becoming clear that the Democrat-led committee withheld key evidence to push a one-sided political narrative about that tragic day.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), who is leading the current review of security and intelligence failures around January 6, has signaled he may seek criminal referrals or House ethics violations against former Democrat lawmakers and staff on the now-defunct January 6 committee, according to a report from John Solomon of Just the News.

As Loudermilk stated in an interview, “they should be [held accountable],” but it will take time to build the case as the Democrats’ committee, apparently run by Liz Cheney rather than its nominal chair Bennie Thompson, deleted and encrypted key evidence.

Most damningly, Loudermilk’s committee revealed that the driver of President Trump’s SUV that day directly contradicted the explosive testimony of star witness Cassidy Hutchinson.

The driver testified that Trump “never grabbed the steering wheel” or tried to lunge into the front seat to go to the Capitol as Hutchinson claimed. Cheney was aware of this exculpatory testimony but the Democrat committee buried it.

The Republican report also found that, contrary to Democrat claims, Trump did in fact offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the Capitol ahead of January 6.

The violence could have been prevented if Capitol Police, D.C. officials and congressional leaders had heeded the intelligence about potential unrest and accepted this additional security. “The events of January 6, 2021, were preventable,” the report rightly concludes, placing blame on the “politicization of Capitol security.”

As Loudermilk and Republicans continue peeling back the layers of deception from the Democrat January 6 committee, the American people will finally get the full truth.

Those who abused their power to hide evidence and push a false political narrative must be held accountable, whether through criminal referrals, House censure, or ethics investigations.
