Judge Releases Migrants Who Attacked Border Patrol Agents

In a controversial decision that has sparked outrage among many Americans, a magistrate judge in El Paso, Texas, ordered the release of criminals migrants who were charged with rioting after they stormed the border on Easter Sunday.

The incident, which took place at Border Safety Initiative Marker No. 36 in the Riverside area of El Paso’s Lower Valley, involved a large group of mostly young men from Venezuela who tore down razor wire and clashed with members of the Texas National Guard.

According to The El Paso Times, Presiding Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta delivered the ruling after accusing the El Paso District Attorney’s office of failing to prepare properly for the detention hearings.

“It is the ruling of the court is that all the rioting participation cases will be released on their own recognizance,” Acosta said. However, court officials confirmed that defendants subject to previously-ordered federal immigration holds would not be released under that order.

The decision to release these individuals, who not only entered the country illegally but also engaged in violent acts against law enforcement, sends a dangerous message.

It suggests that there are no consequences for breaking the law and attacking those who are tasked with protecting our borders.

This ruling undermines the rule of law and the safety of our communities.

Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens, in a recent interview with CBS News’ Camilo Montoya-Galvez, expressed his concerns about the situation, calling it a “national security threat.”

Owens said, “What’s keeping me up at night is the 140,000 known got-aways. Why are they risking their lives and crossing in areas where we can’t get to? Why are they hiding? What do they have to hide? What are they bringing in? What is their intent? Where are they coming from? We simply don’t know the answers to those questions. Those things for us are what represent the threat to our communities.”

The actions of these migrants demonstrate a blatant disregard for the laws and sovereignty of the United States.

By storming the border and attacking law enforcement, they have shown that they are willing to use violence to achieve their goals.

This behavior should not be tolerated, and those responsible should face the full consequences of their actions.

Judge Acosta’s decision to release these individuals without proper consequences sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the efforts of those who work tirelessly to secure our borders and protect our communities.

It is crucial that our judicial system upholds the rule of law and sends a clear message that illegal entry and violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated.
